The Mud Room is an intimate pottery studio focused on wheel throwing, functional ceramics, and hands-on learning. Led by Chelsea Bradford, a BFA ceramics graduate from CSULB and longtime maker behind Chels Pots. The Mud Room emphasizes slow creativity, craftsmanship, and making objects meant to be used and loved daily.
Offerings:
One on One Wheel Throwing Lessons:
Single 75 minute Class: $100
Single Class Includes hands-on lessons in wheel throwing. The pot made by the student will be trimmed and glazed by the instructor to be kiln fired and picked up at a later date.
(6) 75 minute Private Lesson Package: $500
Package Includes hands-on lessons in wheel throwing, trimming, surface decoration, and glazing. Classes meet twice per week over the course of three weeks, giving students a complete introduction to the pottery-making process from start to finish.
Multi-Student Wheel Throwing Lessons:
Single Multi-Student 90 minute Class: $75 per student up to 3 students
Single Class Includes hands-on lessons in wheel throwing. The pots made by the students will be trimmed and glazed by the instructor to be kiln fired and picked up at a later date.
(6) Multi-Student 90 minute Class Package: $450 per Student up to 3 students
Package Includes hands-on lessons in wheel throwing, trimming, surface decoration, and glazing. Classes meet twice per week over the course of three weeks, giving students a complete introduction to the pottery-making process from start to finish.
Hand Building Workshop Field Trips:
Activities would include a brief lesson on the history of clay and the science behind glazes and firing. Each child will be guided through making a pinch or coil pot and decorate with underglaze. Pots will be fired and returned to the school or groups home base.
90 minute Hand Building Workshop: $35 per child up to 25 children per visit, minimum 12 children.
Date Night Wheel Throwing Class:
Includes a hands-on pottery throwing lesson for 2 guided by our instructor. Each guest will create their own ceramic piece, with the option to have it professionally glazed and kiln-fired for pickup at a later date.
